In this 8 week, Wednesday morning class, we will read, explore and discuss the sequential poem in contemporary American poetry, from poets such as Lucille Clifton and Robert Hass to Sherwin Bitsui and Nam Le, and many more besides. What makes a sequential poem work? How does a constellation of poems react to and inform each other? What can be included in a poem? What are the boundaries of a sequence? We’ll address questions such as these, and others, as we dive into this unique and exhilarating
